Remesh Trellises

I got the idea for these bean trellises from many internet sources about making tomato cages out of cattle panels. I was searching for an affordable way to capture more vertical space for my pole beans, which always seemed like they are just getting started when they hit the top of the metal trellis I have, and the teepee ones I make out of rope and poles.

Each trellis is one 4'x8' remesh panel (about $6 each at Menards) bent in half lengthwise. I clipped a row of the across bars off to make long tines that insert into the ground. For additional stability I bent the top corners in a bit (it seemed to help) and zip tied a wooden pole or rebar to one side of each (if you are in a super windy area you might do two. They work fantastic.

In the winter you can leave them out, or they nest together pretty well and I can fit them in the corner of my garage.
